• If any of your friends is going through a rough time please do not hesitate to let him/her know that you are always there for them. They can count on you for anything.

• Be a good listener. Sometimes all it takes is to have someone listen to your problems rather than always interrupting with suggestions. Simply learn to listen to what your friend has to say, then towards the end. Let them know your point of view.

• Don’t ever forget dates that are special and significant to them, that is, birthdays, religious holidays, a day that they accomplished something etc.

• Never get jealous, lie or steal from your friend. Instead of being jealous, congratulate them for what they have achieved.

• Never go behind your friends back. This includes messing around with their significant other, setting them up for something bad, or doing something that you know would hurt them and severe your friendship.

• Be honest. If they ask your opinion on something tell them what you think would be the best thing to do. They may not like it. But it may make their situation better in the end.

You should realize that your feelings for your good friend has turned into something more. You must realize that your relationship has been turned into a friend crush. There are many people who suffer from this and it is important to handle it the right way. Ohterwise you might ruin the friendship/relationship with your friend.
